Totes

Last Saturday several of us gathered up our Featherweights and made a batch of totes for children in Romania. A local group will be going there this summer and needs 1,500(!) totes for the supplies they will give the children. We were able to complete 35 on Saturday, just in time for the April 1st (no fooling!) deadline.

We used a pattern available from Joan Hawley of Lazy Girl Designs. Joan is creative and generous. Her patterns are designed to make it easy to make lovely, useful things. Her website and blog are filled with helpful information and delightful projects. The tote design was a gift to those who read her blog. She also has free hospital gown patterns available on her site.

The Featherweights are now rested and waiting for our next fun project that will help others.
